Tax Committee Overviews Recommendations for a Competitive Tax System

Led by Chair Károly Radnai, our Tax Committee confered online on June 15 to overview the tax related recommendations in AmCham's new recommendation package, Cooperation for a More Competitve and Sustainable Hungary 2022-2023 that was unveiled yesterday and sent to the members of the new government.

For a competitive tax environment, we proposed to make the taxation system more efficient by reducing the number of tax types, to introduce some modifications of the local industry tax, to consult on the net steps in tax digitalization, and we also recommended a number of modifications in certain areas of taxation.

Regarding the global minimum tax, members agreed to set up a small group of experts to write a position paper. We look forward to receiving responses from the Ministry of Finance and to having the opportunity to discuss our proposals.
