The Liz and Chain Bar located on the ground floor now has a sky-high companion. This is the Liz and Chain Sky Lounge, where you can enjoy sunsets, cooling gin tonics or ultimate evenings that are otherwise only known from picture postcards. From here, we can not only admire the bridges of the Danube, the Parliament, the Buda Castle, the Basilica, the Citadel and Gellért Hill in their day and evening dress, but with a cold drink in hand we can get a very magical feeling of Budapest. Here, we experience something that makes our hearts squeeze for a moment and, while tasting a refreshing nip, allows us to feel that we have surely arrived.
It’s not surprising that in recent years roof bars have become so popular around the world. Just as it is uplifting to look down from the top of the mountain into the valley, so living atop an imposing building releases hormones of happiness.
And especially if all happens in a pleasant environment with attentive hospitality accompanied by mood-appropriate music, delicious snacks and accented drinks. Liz and Chain Sky Lounge promises exactly this, whether it be an after-work aperitif sipped with colleagues, couples on a date or friends celebrating a birthday.
The unusual venue and knowledgeable hospitality are also ready for more intimate, private events, and these can be hosted from Sundays to Wednesdays. Just as the Liz and Chain Bar, which opened next to the ground-floor hotel lobby last year, focuses on cocktails and gin tonics, so up on the 9th floor we can also expect a creative bar life with cool homemade concoctions, bitters, lots of experimentation and longer or shorter drinks tuned to the sunset.
Of course, if champagne were chosen instead of gutsy gins and rich rums it would be served with the same expertise. A flawless, hedonistic evening is unimaginable without a few bites, and knowing this the Sky Lounge also offers some hot and cold tapas and desserts, in an á la carte manner.
