Diversity Award

We are thrilled to announce that the application period for the Diversity Impact Awards has officially closed. The response has been overwhelming, with an incredible array of creative entries showcasing the dedication to diversity and inclusion within our community.

After careful consideration, the jury has established the shortlist of finalists. Congratulations to all those who have made it to this stage, as well as to the recipients of special prizes. The caliber of submissions made the jury's task exceptionally challenging, and we extend our heartfelt appreciation to all who participated.

The final decision will be made by the AmCham community at the 35th Anniversary Gala, on June 7, by live voting (1 vote per participant) on the shortlisted companies, which will be followed by the announcement of the Winner in both categories.

As a special feature of our anniversary year, we are delighted to present you the new Diversity Impact Awards, launched specifically for our member companies. 

At AmCham, we embrace diversity as a source of strength. Incorporating a diverse range of perspectives, skills, and backgrounds drives innovation, creativity, and adaptability. As a result, diversity emerges as a crucial asset that can significantly enhance our country's competitiveness.

In 2024, we're taking our commitment to diversity a step further with the launch of the Diversity Impact Awards. In addition to recognizing outstanding initiatives, our aim with the Diversity Impact Awards is to promote knowledge and best practice-sharing on the topic within our business community.

The Awards celebrate excellence in two distinct categories:

  • Inclusive Workplace Excellence Award - for internal programs in Hungary running for at least a year:
    The Inclusive Workplace Excellence Award recognizes and celebrates outstanding internal diversity and inclusion programs that boost open workplace culture and drive innovation and high-performing work environment, fostering business successes. Your program should demonstrate creativity and innovation in promoting diversity and inclusion within the organization. 
  • Community Inclusion Champion Award - for external programs in Hungary running for at least a year:
    The Community Inclusion Champion Award acknowledges external diversity and inclusion programs run by the company that positively impact communities, fostering inclusivity outside of the corporate bubble.These include programs that demonstrate active involvement in external communities, highlighting initiatives that contribute to the well-being and inclusivity of diverse populations.

The Awards will be presented during our 35th Anniversary Gala on June 7, following a live voting procedure.

Why apply?

  1. The Winners of the Awards are rewarded with a trophy recognizing the organization's commitment to continuously developing their internal and external diversity and inclusion programs.
  2. The Winners will receive public recognition through AmCham-wide communications, including a half-page interview in the online AmCham Journal.
  3. One representative of each shortlisted company (3 companies per category) will get a complimentary entry to AmCham’s 35th Anniversary Gala on June 7, 2024.
  4. The application for the Awards is free of charge, the entry does NOT entail any payment obligation.

How to apply?

  1. You can apply by filling out the below form and sending it back to: award [at] amcham.hu until March 27, 2024 EOB

  2. Please note that those who are shortlisted will be required to produce a maximum 1-minute video introducing their project. This will be shared with the AmCham membership on social media (LinkedIn and Facebook) and screened at the 35th Anniversary Gala before the final live voting procedure.
  3. One company may apply for both categories in separate application forms.

Who can apply?

The applicant must be a member company of AmCham Hungary when applying for the Award(s).

Exclusions/Conflicts of Interest:

  1. Legal entities connected to the members of the Jury are not allowed to apply.
  2. The application is not open to natural persons.

Evaluation Process:

The evaluation process consists of two parts:

  1. A professional panel of Jury will assess each nomination and establish a shortlist of 3 companies per category. Shorlisted companies will be announced by 22 April, 2024. 
  2. The final decision will be made by the AmCham community at the 35th Anniversary Gala, on June 7, by live voting (1 vote per participant) on the shortlisted companies, which will be followed by the announcement of the Winner in both categories.

Please note that only already implemented and introduced programs will be evaluated. The Jury also takes into account the conciseness and clarity of the application when evaluating it.

We understand that small- and medium-sized companies do not have the same resources as larger corporations. During the evaluation of the achievements, the Jury will take into consideration the size of the company.

The jury may decide to award a special prize to some application or applications.
