Szabolcs Szendrő, CMS
Szabolcs Szendrő is a partner and Head of Competition at CMS in Hungary. He has more than 15 years’ experience in Competition Law and has an economic background. Before joining CMS, he worked for the Hungarian Competition Authority as the chief legal counsel of the Merger Division, where among others he led in-depth investigations and contributed to legislative and regulatory measures actively. Szabolcs is also involved in academics as an assistant lecturer at ELTE University of Law and he regularly provides trainings and lectures at various competition law events.
Aranka Nagy, CMS
Aranka is a senior associate in the Competition Team at CMS in Hungary. Aranka Nagy has 12 years’ experience in all aspects of competition law. Before joining CMS, Aranka Nagy worked as chief counsel at the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH), where she dealt with high-profile mergers and represented the GVH in cross-border cases. In addition, she served as a competition expert at the OECD Competition Division in Paris.
Dóra Altziebler, CMS
Dóra Altziebler is an associate specialising in Competition law at CMS in Hungary. Over the last seven years, Dóra Altziebler has advised clients in all fields of competition and consumer protection law under the Hungarian and EU regimes. Dóra is also pursuing economic studies and is the steering committee member of CMS’s international competition law organisation, the CMS Competition Associates.
Annemieke Hazelhoff, CMS
Annemieke Hazelhoff is a member of the Antitrust, Competition & Trade (ACT) practice group at CMS based in Amsterdam. Annemieke Hazelhoff heads the CMS Competition Associate Group internationally and is co-head of the Dutch CMS Dawn raid team. With her almost 15 years’ experience in competition law, she advises clients from a range of industries on all topics related to competition law and foreign direct investments.
Martijn Snoep, Chairman, Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets
Since September 1, 2018, Martijn Snoep has been the Chairman of the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM). Mr. Snoep obtained his law degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam. Until his appointment at ACM, he worked at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek for 28 years. Operating from both their Amsterdam and Brussels locations, Mr. Snoep gave advice to businesses about the application of competition law in the Netherlands and abroad. As managing partner, he stood at the helm of the firm between 2010 and 2016.
Paul Csiszár, Director, Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission
After graduating from ELTE School of Law of Budapest, Paul Csiszár studied international comparative law and earned a second Juris Doctorate at Loyola Law School in the United States. Following his admission to the California Bar in 1986 he practiced as a corporate, securities and M&A lawyer in the US and then from 1997 in Europe with the international law firm of Squire Sanders until 2003 when he joined the public sector. Currently Mr Csiszár serves as one of the Directors of the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission.
Antonio Capobianco, Deputy Head, OECD Competition Division
Antonio Capobianco is the Deputy Head of the OECD Competition Division. He is responsible for the proceedings of the OECD Competition Committee and for other work streams of the Division. Over the years at the OECD, Mr Capobianco has coordinated a series of OECD projects and work streams and has authored numerous Background Notes of the Secretariat on a wide range of competition law enforcement and policy topics. He has led many in-country projects to support domestic reforms and he regularly represents the OECD at international events. Prior to joining the OECD in 2007, Mr Capobianco was a Counsel in the Competition Department of WilmerHale LLP, based in Brussels. He also spent three years with the Italian Competition Authority. Mr Capobianco authored several articles on antitrust issues published on major international law journals specialized in competition law and he co-authored textbooks on Italian and European competition law and economics.
Irini Kefalogianni, Coca-Cola HBC
Irini Kefalogianni is the Head of Competition Law & Commercial at the Group Legal team of Coca-Cola HBC. Irini has extensive experience working in-house in big multinational FMCGs, holding Regional and Business Unit director roles. Irini started her career at Norton Rose Fullbright in Greece, where she worked for over 10 years, gaining significant experience working in infrastructure deals, M&As as well as project and corporate finance transactions. She has also worked for 3 years as inhouse legal counsel to the Hellenic Capital Market Commission, where she supported the department responsible for the supervision of companies listed on the Athens Stock Exchange. Irini holds a degree in law from the Athens School of Law, an LL.M. in Corporate Law from NYU - School of Law, and a Postgraduate diploma in EU Competition Law from Kings’ College, London.
Jan Lohrberg, Senior Counsel, International Competition Law & Policy, Deutsche Telekom AG
Jan Lohrberg is a Senior Competition Counsel at Deutsche Telekom headquarters. Prior to this Jan was serving as a case handler as well as in international affairs and public relations unit of the German competition agency. He started his career in private practice and gained hands-on experience in various international law firms located in Germany, Brussels and Washington D.C. across a number of industry sectors. Jan is a German qualified lawyer and holds a Master’s degree in comparative EU/US competition law from King’s College, London as well as a certificate in managing economic analysis from the European School of Management and Technology, Berlin. Working at the crossroads of law, technology and policy, Jan is actively involved in competition related activities of various international organizations.
Zita Vasas, Vice President, Compass Lexecon
Zita is a Vice President at Compass Lexecon with widespread experience as a competition economist, including in consulting (Compass Lexecon), in the competition team of a sectoral regulator (the Financial Conduct Authority, UK), at a national competition authority (Hungary) and in academia (at the Toulouse School of Economics, France). She has been involved in cases in a wide range of sectors (e.g., retail financial products, FMCG, healthcare, telecommunications), policy areas (market investigations, abuse of dominance cases, mergers and policy advice) and jurisdictions (e.g., EU, UK, Australia, South Africa, Oman and India). While working at the FCA, she gained experience in applying behavioural economics and consumer policy. She completed her PhD in competition policy at the University of East Anglia and holds an MSc in Competition and Market Regulation from the Barcelona School of Economics. She currently works on digital platforms and on a research project on the role of behavioural insights in the implementation of the EU’s Digital Markets Act.
