TOPICS
BREAK-OUT SESSION 1:
Cybersecurity Compliance – What Comes After the GDPR? - championed by Dóra Petrányi, Márton Domokos and Dániel Necz, CMS
International cyber-criminals, hacktivists, terrorist groups and even nation states are targeting almost all companies, regardless of size or country. The issue has shifted in recent years from being a legal and compliance responsibility to being a board level priority. There is a growing demand amongst companies for practical, industry-specific advice on cybersecurity - protecting personal data, intellectual property, trade secrets, IT systems and reputation became of primary importance. The EU has also adopted the first comprehensive piece of legislation on cybersecurity - the Directive on the Security of Network and Information Systems (NIS Directive). Now that GDPR compliance projects are (ideally) coming to the end, companies providing “essential services” through network and information systems (e.g. in the energy, transport, finance, health sectors) and digital service providers (online marketplaces, search engines, cloud service providers) will face new cybersecurity obligations, and governments shall also introduce national cybersecurity strategies and policies. From understanding the key legal and regulatory obligations, the participants will discuss how companies can build an organisation-wide cybersecurity strategy, respond when a breach occurs and comply with the EU’s and national cybersecurity laws.
BREAK-OUT SESSION 2:
